The brief
An established WordPress site built with a page builder, sliders and several plugins. The goals: faster pages on mobile, analytics the business can trust, and stronger search visibility for weddings, corporate events and private parties, the services that bring enquiries.
What we did
- Mobile speed: lighter homepage hero, self-hosted fonts, a map that loads only when needed, and faster menu response on phones.
- Caching: moved to a free, maintained caching setup, removing a licence cost.
- Accessibility: contact-form errors announced to screen readers.
- Search: technical SEO and clearer pages for the three event types that matter most.
- Consent and measurement: Google consent mode set up, and GA4 with separate enquiry events for catering and the deli, so the numbers reflect real enquiries.
How it was released
Each change was tested on a staging copy first, released to the live site only after the client approved it, with a fresh backup and a rollback ready.
Result
The site scores 99/100 on Google PageSpeed Insights, and enquiries are now measured separately for events and the deli. See website speed and SEO and analytics.
